Avelair has taken another practical step in improving the sustainability of its premises by investing in roof improvements and the installation of a new solar PV system.
As part of the project, the existing premises roof has been overclad, helping to improve the building fabric while also providing the ideal platform for a new solar array. The installation includes two separate solar PV systems across the office and warehouse supplies, with panels split east and west to maximise the use of generated electricity throughout the working day.
The new system has a combined capacity of 39.1 kWp (meaning a peak power rating of 39,100 watts of electricity at any one moment in perfect condition) and includes 79 high-efficiency Trina 495W solar modules. By generating more renewable electricity on site, Avelair will reduce its reliance on grid electricity and continue to lower the carbon impact of its day-to-day operations.
This investment forms part of Avelair’s wider commitment to Net Zero. Since partnering with Positive Planet in 2022, Avelair has measured its emissions across multiple reporting periods, set Science-Based Targets, and developed a carbon reduction roadmap. The company has committed to reducing emissions by 42% from its baseline year by 2030 and reaching Net Zero by 2045.
For Avelair, sustainability is not just about long-term targets. It is about taking meaningful action across the business, from energy efficiency and staff awareness through to investment in renewable energy and lower-carbon operations.
The new roof and solar installation represents another important step in making Avelair a more sustainable British manufacturer of compressed air systems.
