Avelair is pleased to share that Managing Director Dave Wood has completed a Positive Planet Carbon Literacy course and achieved Carbon Literate Certification. The certificate confirms that Dave has met the requirements of the Carbon Literacy Standard and is recognised as Carbon Literate.
This is an important step in strengthening Avelair’s commitment to reducing its environmental impact. Carbon Literacy gives individuals a clearer understanding of the causes and impacts of climate change, as well as the practical actions businesses can take to reduce emissions.
For Avelair, this knowledge supports our ongoing journey to Net Zero. Since partnering with Positive Planet in 2022, Avelair has measured emissions across four reporting periods, set Science-Based Targets, and developed a reduction roadmap to 2030. The company has committed to reducing emissions by 42% from its baseline year by 2030 and reaching Net Zero by 2045.
Having Carbon Literate leadership helps ensure sustainability remains embedded in decision-making across the business. It will support Avelair in identifying emissions hotspots, improving internal awareness, engaging employees, and continuing to take practical action across operations, products, suppliers, and customers.
This certification reflects Avelair’s belief that reaching Net Zero is not just about targets, but about building the knowledge, culture, and commitment needed to make meaningful progress.
